  DETECTO’s VET550 is a stainless steel portable floor scale for weighing medium to large size animals and features a 550 lb / 250 kg capacity with .2 lb / .1 kg divisions. The large stainless steel 36 in x 22 in W / 90 cm x 56 cm platform with remote indicator may be used for mobile or stationary use in veterinary practices, animal health facilities, and zoos. The scale can be powered by the included AC power adapter or 4 AA batteries (not included). The programmable Auto-Shutoff turns off the scale when not in use to conserve batteries (adjustable up to 5 minutes). The stainless steel platform provides durability and easy wipe-down cleaning for animal weighing. The VET550’s HOLD key allows the animal’s weight to be retained after leaving the platform. Built-in wheels and an integral guide handle allow for easy transportation of the scale to a new location. A wall-mount display bracket and mounting hardware are included. The 7.0 ft (2.1 m) cable from the scale base to the display allows for the placement of the weight display wherever it is easiest to operate the keypad and read the weight.

Raised lip platform edges contain liquids, so they don’t run over the edges of the platform. Veterinarians and vet techs will appreciate the TARE function, which can remove the weight of a container (basket, box, or crate) used to contain small animals while weighing. Minimal assembly is required; simply install the non-skid feet and mounting bracket for the weight display. Leveling feet allow you to ensure the scale is sitting level on the floor for accurate weighing. The low-profile platform is only 2 in / 5 cm H that pets readily accept stepping onto. The veterinary scale’s USB port enables weight data transmission to an electronic medical records system. The VET550 comes with DETECTO’s 2-year warranty protection. ​
